Whatever your mechanical services needs from simple ventilation to fully comprehensive systems including underfloor heating systems. Andrew Engineering can turn your requirement into reality.

Either working from a full client specification or an open statement of requirement, Andrew Engineering will bring the experience necessary to ensure the optimum system selection.

Andrew Engineering can tailor an individual solution to meet the requirements and provide energy efficient solutions for your environment. Andrew Engineering design and build systems using equipment from major manufacturers, yet remain completely independent. Choice of equipment is based upon consideration of all the factors involved to achieve the best solution for the customer.

For an efficient, modern, hidden heating system underfloor provides the answer.

Whatever your heating needs, Andrew Engineering can design and install a system to suit you. Underfloor heating systems work especially well with ground and air source heat pumps but can also be used with conventional fossil fuel, gas and oil fired boilers, giving you the choice of system.

Underfloor heating systems circulate low temperature hot water through pipes buried in the floor to provide a gentle, uniform and constant heat. Individual rooms can be organised into different zones to provide maximum flexibility with individual temperature control in each room.

Underfloor heating works well with all types of floors

  • Solid
  • Floating
  • Suspended

Insulation has a direct impact on the effectiveness of any heating system but especially with underfloor heating systems due to the low flow temperatures and location of the heating pipes in the floor. The heat from the heating system should pass into the room from the floor so the insulation below the underfloor heating must prevent the heat loss downwards. The correct thickness of insulation must be installed for the system to work correctly. As a minimum there should be compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations but ideally this should be exceeded. This is a one off cost for a permanent gain.

Exceeding Part L with additional insulation in a new building should be straight forward although in retrofitting to existing buildings this is not always possible, so caution should be applied in selection of the best system to suit the application including the underfloor heating.

Andrew Engineering Ltd work with many of the major manufacturers of underfloor heating systems, so that the best system can be selected to meet the specific requirements for each customer.
